The artist was the caretaker and mistress of a wealthy Havana arts patron. His extensive collection of 20th-century masters was looted during the Revolution and Lopez was tasked with painting and replacing the stolen works. During her life, she exhibited in both Cuba and Florida. This piece is signed on the lower left and paired with an antique gilt frame.
