- Originally used in taverns, mochaware was first produced in England in the late 1700's and imported to America in the early 19th century. Since its inception, it has been beloved for its practicality and day-to-day durability.

- Mochaware’s dendritic pattern is created by dripping an acidic solution on the wet slip of the pottery. The resulting reaction creates the abstract designs we love, reminiscent of a sea fan, seaweed, or sprawling tree limbs.

- In recent years, the craze for this pottery has skyrocketed and its signature motifs and color combinations have become especially coveted. The striking orange and blue color pairing on this design is especially rare and feels surprisingly modern.

- Today, these decorative objects make beautiful desk accessories, ideal vases, and extraordinary objets d’art.

- This pair of French midcentury earthenware lamps with a gorgeous green glaze is one of our all-time favorite discoveries. Each bears the stamp of Biot, a town in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region near Antibes that has been one of the most important pottery centers in the Mediterranean since the 1300's.

-We paired these urn-shaped bases with custom wicker shades and had each fully re-wired with silk twist cords.

- These simple, sublime forms bring a touch of Riviera style to any interior.

- A beautiful and practical piece of furniture, this vintage bamboo nightstand boasts charm and storage in spades.

- We're crazy for its reeded bamboo accents and deep honey finish. We'd place it between a pair of twin beds or use it as a single bedside table.

- A roomy drawer and large lower cabinet are perfect for stashing books, trinkets, and bedside necessities.

- A true collector’s item, this vintage table lamp was designed by Piero Fornasetti in his Milanese workshop in the mid-twentieth century.

- Born out of the post-war artistic movement of the 1940’s, Fornasetti’s designs are synonymous with fantasy, whimsy, creative flair, and the magic of the natural world. Or, as Piero phrased it, “practical madness.” To this day, each Fornasetti object is made by hand in Italy by expert craftsmen, honoring a generation-spanning commitment to this distinct art that spans furniture, porcelain, lighting, and other decorative accessories.

- No longer in production in this colorway, the 'Farfalle' table lamp features a colorful swarm of hand-painted butterflies atop its surface. It is a beautiful example of the heart of Fornasetti’s designs, representing beauty and creativity in the service of utility.

- A fantastic conversation piece, a vision to contemplate, and an object to be used and enjoyed every day.

- A gorgeous palette of blue and green coupled with graphic banding make this antique Staffordshire pitcher one of our favorite ceramic finds to date.

- Made between 1820-1830, this piece feels surprisingly modern. Fill it with fresh cut blooms or use it for service at your table.

- The English county of Staffordshire has a rich history of pottery production dating to the 17th century. The region's abundant resources propelled it to become a leading ceramic center, especially during the 18th and 19th centuries when export of ceramics to Europe and America began to boom. Pottery made in this region is highly collectible and includes many familiar forms, like beloved porcelain dogs and figures. Today, the name remains synonymous with the tradition of fine handmade tableware.
