- Dimensions: 8.25" x 8.25"
- Mrs. Kennedy Goes Abroad is a delightful visual scrapbook of two storied diplomatic trips: the Kennedys' celebrated 1961 tour of Europe and later, Jackie's visit to India and Pakistan with sister Lee Radziwill. Artist Jacqueline Duhême was commissioned by the First Lady to document both historic visits abroad: state dinners at the Élysée Palace, a ballet at Versailles, camel rides in Karachi, and Jackie’s moonlight visit to the Taj Mahal.
- Duheme’s playful, jewel-like illustrations were compiled in 1998 into this charming edition, first published in 1998 and currently out of print. The volume is complete with original photos, sketches, and text drawn from recollections and reportage, as well as an introduction by John Kenneth Galbraith, personal friend to the Kennedys who accompanied Jackie on this 1962 trip as ambassador to India.
- We are offering 5 first edition copies in excellent vintage condition. This book makes an ideal gift for lovers of travel, art, and Camelot alike.
