The show will run through September 7th in our \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/torijonesstudio.com\/pages\/visit-us-on-block-island\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"\u003eBlock Island gallery\u003c\/a\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/torijonesstudio.com\/pages\/visit-us-on-block-island\"\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e- Sarah Bird is an interdisciplinary artist working across drawing, photography, film, projection, and installation. Her practice has taken trees as media, mediators, material, and method— and she now brings these methodologies to the ocean as another force and site of inquiry into the more-than-human world.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e- The drawings in this exhibition continue a series begun when Sarah asked the ocean to show her how to draw it. They explore the ocean as a mediating force — dynamic, relational, and affective.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e- Sarah has been visiting Block Island since her college years; her first exhibition there was \u003cem\u003eLong-Term Residents: Trees of Block Island\u003c\/em\u003e (Block Island Historical Society, 2019). She holds a PhD in Film and Digital Media from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
