This framed exhibition poster commemorates the first major retrospective of Fairfield Porter's work at the Whitney Museum in 1984. It showcases one of the artist's most important paintings, Lizzie at the Table, now in the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. We love how Porter brilliantly merges the sophisticated (that radiant color sensibility and painterly hand) with the simple (everyday subject matter, like the detritus of a family breakfast table). As if the artwork itself wasn't charming enough, we love the way its paired with clean, graphic type in robin's egg blue. Porter is best known for his paintings of the New England coastline, intimate interiors and loving portraits of those closest to him. Not surprisingly, we think this piece would be right at home in an all-American beach cottage or country abode.

This vintage poster is in mint condition. It's newly framed in painted white with UV-protectant plexiglass.
